2014 WSSPC Awards in Excellence

Awards were presented at the 2014 WSSPC Annual Meeting on July 21, 2014, at the BP Energy Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Western States Seismic Policy Council (WSSPC) is pleased to announce two winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2014. Recognized for outstanding achievement in earthquake risk reduction, the winners have demonstrated throughout their careers an extraordinary commitment, level of service, and contribution to the application of earthquake risk reduction to public policy.

Ron Lynn PhotoRon Lynn, the Director/Building & Fire Official for the Clark County Department of Building & Fire Prevention Bureau, has been a champion of earthquake safety throughout his career. Gary Chock, S.E., is President of Martin & Chock, Inc., and has been a member of the Hawaii State Earthquake Advisory Committee since it was established in 1990. His career has involved tsunami, earthquake and hurricane hazard research; building risk assessments; hazard mitigation planning; building code development; and emergency response planning.
